Welcome to the Magpie & Plum Blossom Freehand (Xie Yi) Brush Painting Course!
In Chinese culture, the magpie (喜鹊) is known as the “happiness bird” or “fortune bird” because it is believed to bring joy and auspicious events. This name dates back to ancient records, where people regarded the magpie as a sentient creature that carried good fortune.
The plum blossom (梅) is one of the most cherished cultural icons in the Eastern world. As the leader of the Four Gentleman Plants, it symbolizes resilience and renewal, blooming in the harsh winter to announce the arrival of spring. Plum blossoms have been cultivated in China for over 3,000 years, carrying deep historical and artistic significance.
Together, the magpie and plum blossom form a hidden message of blessings—a symbolic code waiting to be uncovered. Come join us and discover what it says!
